We established Empower Financial Advice in April 2020

Personal wealth accumulation and Personal Protection (Life Insurance).

How would you describe your approach to work?

Every day is a new day you never know how it's going to pan out, however whatever happens, it's only a blip in eternity so don’t stress the small stuff.

What did you do before you started at Empower?

I previously worked as a Senior Financial Planner at NAB Financial Planning but have had many other jobs including a stint in the ADF.

What is your greatest source of enjoyment in your job?

Working alongside people to help them achieve their financial goals and objectives.

Can you tell us about the most memorable moment of your career?

When we opened the doors to Empower Financial Advice and decided to have a turtle as our mascot. Why? Because they live to over 100 years of age, slow and steady wins the race.

Is there a client or project that stands out?

I love completing the in-depth research when reviewing my model portfolio.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?

Spending time with my beautiful wife of 40 years and our 12 grandchildren. Also hopping on a plane/cruise ship to anywhere.

I was a rated an expert marksman in the ADF. I've got your back!!

What’s the most unusual or interesting financial request you’ve had?

A person called me and wanted to set up a self-managed super fund and when I asked why, he said ‘’because my existing Superannuation company won’t let me put all my super into Crypto currency.’’

What is the one piece of financial advice you wish you’d known sooner?

The mighty power of compound interest (see below)!
